Who Are You? 

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analysts Intern to join our Data, Analytics, Governance & Applied AI Group as a Business Data Analyst. In this role, they will play a crucial part in activating the company's strategic direction by helping develop repeatable, scalable methods for: 1) defining the objective or outcome that a [proposed] metric will inform; 2) assessing the value of current metrics; 3) defining success/ acceptance criteria for any metric (new or existing) 4) defining metrics for “immeasurable” things, and 5) help define objective measurement approaches for metrics that are in scope. 

What you will do:

  • Develop statistical methods & models for quantifying tangible and intangible metrics that deliver value or drive decisions/action.
  • Define data or data characteristics that would aid in the measurement of materially valuable metrics.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Collaborate within the team (data engineers, data scientists & data modelers) to understand available data, business and technical processes, and internal platforms & tools, which will be your data source. 
  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation. - or clearly define data features or data set requirements to enable rapid Data engineer actions to meet these needs.
  • Use Python for data analysis and scripting as needed.
  • Develop and maintain regular reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and the group Vice President clearly and concisely.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in statistics & data analysis.
  • Propose and implement improvements to existing processes and methodologies.
  • Experience using AI tools and exploring new technologies 

The ideal candidate will have a passion for data, excellent analytical skills, very strong background and acumen in statics & statistical methods, and proficiency in tools such as Excel, SQL, and statistical analysis tools available in the industry.

 

Your Background 

 

About You: 

  • At least Junior year toward Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, etc.).
  • Strong statistical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with very strong emphasis on simplicity vs complexity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, SQL, statistical modeling, Monte Carlo models, Confidence interval development & calibration.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
