Over Everything, Social Media [Design/Marketing Internship]

Remote, Open to Ages 18-24 (Subsidy), Internship

Who Are We?

 

  • About us:

    We are a non profit label and artist empowerment organization based out of Los Angeles. Our goal is to help push the industry towards more fair and equitable practices by supplying free music industry education, and offering development & release support to artists we believe in. Through free access to music industry education and resources, artists will be able to better protect themselves from predatory scenarios and contracts; thereby influencing labels to respond with new standards and more equitable deal structures.

Who Are You? 

 

As a Social Media intern, you will be in charge of overseeing our company's connections with the public through the implementation of content strategy for social media platforms. Your responsibilities will include analyzing engagement data, implementing our social media and graphic ideas and goals and developing digital initiatives to establish an online community. The role requires out-of-the-box thinking, some rule-bending, a bit of ingenuity, and the creative chops to back it up. 

What you will do:

  • Implement our established social media goals and bring new ideas to the table
  • Create, edit, publish, and distribute compelling content daily or weekly (for example, original text, photographs, videos, etc.) 
  • Keep track of SEO and online traffic stats 
  • Maintain and help create brand consistency 
  • Communicate with followers, reply to inquiries quickly, and keep track of client feedback
  • Oversee the design of social media content (educational/musical) 
  • Maintain current knowledge of contemporary technologies and trends in social media, design tools, and applications.

About You: 

  • Practical knowledge of content management 
  • Copywriting abilities 
  • Capability to deliver original content (text, image, and video) and to edit and publish existing content 
  • Basic understanding of SEO & keyword research
  • Understanding of online marketing channels 
  • Excellent communication abilities 
  • Proficient in analytical and multitasking abilities 

 

Our Mission Statement

 

We are looking for someone who is as passionate about music as they are about community. We are a creative group of people who are constantly in motion and up to something of value. Whether we are throwing free educational events or concerts, filming our live performance series, or assisting our artists on their releases, it’s a high paced environment with no clear model to follow. Which means we all have to work it out in real time, coming together as a team to share ideas and improve our current systems to maximize our reach and impact. Ideally whomever comes into this position is filled with energy and ideas and is excited to take the lead on individual projects. 

 

Subsidy Role Information

 

Subsidy roles require students to have an LA County based address, and be between the ages of 18-24 years old. Once you are placed in a subsidy eligible position you will be required to present the following documents to processed in a Youth Center (AJCC):

  1. Identification (School or State ID)

  2. Social Security Card (Please ensure that it is signed)

  3. Birth Certificate

  4. Proof of Los Angeles County Residency, including a postmarked date (Report Card, Transcripts, or any mail that is under the applicant’s name)

  5. Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination OR valid medical/religious exemption

  6. The Youth Center (AJCC) WILL BE PAYING YOU for 160 completed hours.

  7. You will be required to submit Timesheets to your YOUTH CENTER (AJCC) to be paid for your time worked.

NOTE IF YOU WERE ALREADY PLACED IN A SUBSIDY POSITION (ACADEMY/INTERNSHIP). YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY FOR SUBSIDY ROLES UNTIL JULY 1ST
